Shelter Belt Chardonnay 2020

The acclaim Jackson Estate generates is based entirely on the merit of our pristine, cool climate vineyards. This wine is named after a large shelterbelt of trees protecting the Homestead Vineyard which separating the vineyard form the Homestead.

Notes of fresh citrus, apple and box wood create an enticing entry to this wine. Combined with the underlying complex notes of white stone fruit, subtle melon and a classic minerality, this wine has bags of character in the glass. The palate follows in profile with layers of elegant complexity, a clean fresh acidity, and a long finish.

A vibrant summer straw yellow and lime hue fills your glass. On the relaxed nose you are greeted by aromas of fresh peaches, apples and a biscotti note. The palate is both elegant and generous showcasing firm white peaches, ripe apples, a splash of apricot and a butterscotch nuance due to the 12 months in oak. And all nicely balanced by uplifting natural fruit acidity that leads you to a classic dry finish.
