Jacksons Cellar Door announced

Jackson Estate has now formally announced the construction of a new winery and cellar door. This will be the first time JKE has had a cellar door and we’re all very excited about the premise of it. The project is a very unique, one of a kind in Marlborough. With a capacity of just 250T and 52 tanks we’re continuing our goal of creating boutique, premium small-batch wines made specifically for wine lovers. Pinot Noir will make up the vast majority of this winery and has been set up and designed for hands-on, small-batch winemaking. JKE will also make the...

A Taste of the Islands (and our new releases)

On February 24th 2016 the Jackson Estate team set out on a two day trip to the Bay of Islands. A cyclone had just passed through Fiji and was looking like it was going to hit the BOI while the team was there, almost shutting down the entire trip. The boat that that was used was called the ‘Belladonna’ and is owned by John Benton, and skippered by Todd Evers who also owns a local restaurant in the BOI called Alfresco. The event was held...

Harvest 2015

The Season Well what a year!! The growing season leading into vintage 2015 was really one for the books. We had lovely clear warm weather leading up and into flowering pre-Christmas and everything looked on track for one of the best and possibly largest vintages for a number of years. However right on flowering we had a period of extremely warm weather, and strong Nor-West winds. This in turn caused the vines to slow down in the extreme heat and close stomata at these higher temperatures. As such large parts of Marlborough were affected with an uneven fruit set. The...
